Hours before the end of Donald Trump's presidency, his son and his followers continue to attack the president-elect. Now, with a video edited to give the false impression that Biden is unable to assume power.

Within hours of his inauguration, Joe Biden's detractors are sharing a rigged video to pretend he's in no shape to take over the White House.

On January 17, Donald Trump Jr., son of the outgoing president, tweeted a video showing Biden behind a podium: he says goodbye to the audience, then walks to a table and picks up a folder, and after standing there for a moment, he slowly exits the stage.

"Wow. If he were a Republican, the 25th Amendment talks would be trending and with good reason," said Trump Jr.

The video has more than 2.8 million views and has also been posted on Facebook.

The posts were flagged as part of Facebook's efforts to combat fake news and misinformation on its wall.

Twitter labeled the Trump Jr. video as "manipulated material."

The video was released a few days after the House of Representatives asked Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and declared that President Donald Trump "cannot successfully carry out the duties and powers of his office."

The tweet of Donald Trump Jr, whose video of Joe Biden was manipulated.

Disinformation on the internet often attempts to falsely portray the 78-year-old Biden as senile and insane.

This video is another one of those attempts.

The clip comes from the end of a Jan. 16 event in which Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris announced various members of the White House science team.

But, Biden didn't stare confused as they would have him believe: the video Trump Jr. shared was edited.

The original images show Biden making some final comments alongside Harris.

Another angle shows that when Biden leaves the podium and stands on the table for a few seconds, he is waiting for other people to leave the stage.

The video Trump Jr. shared was edited so as not to show anyone else on stage with Biden.

They also eliminated the sound of people leaving before him.

The clip is an example of what the Washington Post calls "skipping" or "editing large portions of a video and presenting it as a complete narrative, despite missing key elements."

We reached out to the White House for comment, but have not received a response.

Trump Jr.'s tweet is inaccurate and ridiculous.

We qualify it as

fake material.
