A new digital control center has existed for this purpose at the police headquarters on the island of Tronchetto west of Venice since September 2020.

in the so-called “Smart Control Room” a lot of other data is displayed in real time on huge screens

“We find out in real time how many people are in which part of the city and which countries they come from,” explains Marco Bettini.

His company Venis has developed the system that makes it possible to monitor this data.

The phone data is automatically aggregated so that no personal data is passed on, it is said.
