Through her lawyer, the policewoman accused of violence during a check for lack of mask by a resident of Garges-lès-Gones

After the press conference of Débora A., a resident of Garges-lès-Gonesse, on Monday, against a policewoman whom she accuses of being involved in the loss of her baby, after a check and an arrest while she was four and a half months pregnant, the latter reacted on Tuesday.

The facts would have taken place during a control of the wearing of the mask, on December 10 at the shopping center of Garges-lès-Gonesse.

“The policewoman formally disputes the accusations of the young woman.

She is sorry for the loss of the child but she is totally unrelated to it ”, according to her lawyer Me de Montbrial, who spoke to AFP.

According to him, “she calmly awaits her hearing by the IGPN”.

Débora A. had filed a complaint on December 23.

A preliminary investigation, opened at the beginning of January, is underway at the Pontoise public prosecutor's office, on the count of willful violence by a person holding public authority having resulted in a total incapacity for work of more than 8 days.

This was entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN).

"I regret that personal dramas are exploited for militant purposes"

"I regret that personal dramas are exploited for militant purposes," added Me de Montbrial.

During her press conference, in the presence of her lawyer Me Vincent Brengarth, Débora A., a frail young woman of 23 years old with a childish face, had difficulty finding her words, obviously very moved.

On December 10, the mother-to-be was about to leave the Arc-en-Ciel shopping center at 5:30 p.m. with her cousin and a friend when they were checked for not wearing the mask.

"I had it in my pocket, I said yes right away", explained the complainant.

It is all the same verbalized.

She then recounts two episodes of violence, while her cousin, suspected of contempt of an officer "is caught" then "pinned to the ground".

According to Debora A., the policewoman - whom she had never seen and who seemed young to her - "would have pushed her against the wall three times violently", then would have "shaken her to apologize".

According to the ITT certificate, "lumbar contusion" and "metrorrhagia"

The policewoman in question, for her part, also lodged a complaint against Debora A. and her cousin for "contempt of a person responsible for law enforcement".

At the end of her custody, the young woman has also received a summons to court for July 6.

She is said to have indicated on several occasions that she was pregnant.

That same evening, the pains - which turned out to be contractions - began.

After several consultations, she was finally hospitalized for ten days at the Blanc-Mesnil hospital (Seine-Saint-Denis), where she had given birth on December 21 to a stillborn baby girl.

The certificate of total temporary incapacity for work of 8 days, examined on December 11 at the emergency reception service of the same hospital, highlights "a lumbar contusion" and "metrorrhagia [Editor's note: bleeding] in a pregnant woman ”, While, according to the complainant, her pregnancy was proceeding quite normally.

It is on the basis of this certificate but also of the testimonies and images that she would have recovered, that Débora A. lodged a second complaint, with the constitution of civil party, for "violence by a person holding public authority having resulted in permanent dismemberment ”last week.

The objective being, according to his lawyer, to obtain "the appointment of an investigating judge" and new investigations such as the use of video surveillance or medical acts.
