A new book by Nazem Muhanna celebrates the late poet Abdel Moein Al Mallouhi

The Ministry of Culture, the Syrian General Organization for Book, issued a monthly booklet for adolescents by Nazem Muhanna, and within the series “Informers and Creators”, celebrating the late poet Abdel Moein Al-Mallouhi.

The booklet, which is located in 55 pages of medium size, deals with the biography of Al-Mallouhi, who was also a teacher, educator, linguist, translator, example of intellectual giving, a man of enlightenment and a national renaissance, open to world cultures and excel in his culture and always proceeds in his behavior and thinking from the base of freedom, responsibility and commitment.

Muhanna starts from Al-Mallouhi's birth in Homs and the influence of his father's education on him, which made him passionate about poetry and the Arabic language, to move on to his life as a teacher, then work in journalism, his higher studies of the Arabic language, and his membership in the Arabic Language Academy in Damascus.

Muhanna talks about Al-Malouhi's qualities and morals, as those who knew him agreed on his gentleness of morals and friendliness to people to talk afterwards about Al-Malouhi's scientific and literary standing, as he was considered a mobile cognitive academy.

In his life, the Malouhi poet was exposed to severe misfortunes due to the death of his brothers, wife and daughter, so death imposed itself on his literary career, so he became known as the poet of Lamentations.

The writer also stops at Al-Malouhi's work in translation, his interest in Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese literature, and his belief that eastern literature is more humane and closer to Arabic literature. Muhanna also presents testimonies about the experience of the Malouhi poet.

Muhanna explains that Al-Mallouhi's books are about 300 books, of which 103 were printed, including 6 collections of poetry, 37 authored books, 38 translators, 5 in collection and supervision, and 17 in investigation and heritage.

It is noteworthy that Nazem Muhanna is a writer and storyteller, who headed the editor of a number of magazines, participated in seminars and literary meetings, and publishes his articles in the Syrian and Lebanese press.
