The Freising member of the Bundestag Erich Irlstorfer was probably infected with Covid-19 in the Wartenberg Clinic.

There he accompanied his seriously ill mother, who has since passed away.

Irlstorfer can only praise the clinic.

Wartenberg / Freising - After District Administrator Helmut Petz and Minister Florian Herrmann, the corona virus caught the next Freising political celebrity: CSU Bundestag member Erich Irlstorfer (50) has been in the Freising Clinic for a week with Covid 19.

He was probably infected in the Wartenberg Clinic.

There he had taken over the palliative care of his seriously ill mother, whom he visited daily in Wartenberg.

She has since passed away.

Irlstorfer does not criticize the clinic.

On the contrary.

Irlstorfer has clear symptoms of the disease - "but things are looking up again," he reported from the isolation ward on Tuesday.

Irlstorfer's wife and two children are also infected.

Shortly before the turn of the year, there was a major corona outbreak in the Wartenberg Clinic.

Numerous patients and employees were infected, so that it was even necessary to temporarily relocate Covid-19 patients to Erdinger Hospital.

Irlstorfer's mother was also infected - and subsequently also Erich Irlstorfer.

His mother's condition worsened.

She died on January 9th in Erdinger Hospital.

Erich Irlstorfer and his family had already been tested.

The result: All four family members were positive.

How the corona outbreak in Wartenberg came about is a mystery to Irlstorfer.

“The hygiene concept there wasn't all good.

It was very good.

It was the best you can imagine, ”he says.

The strict conditions have been implemented consistently, he can testify to that.

He, too, was fanatical about not getting infected - also in order to be there for his mother.

“We didn't even buy any more,” reports Irlstorfer, “but had everything delivered to us.

Never in my life have I followed things as meticulously as in the past few weeks. ”But Corona is treacherous - extremely treacherous.

Irlstorfer himself was hit hardest by his family. “When the oxygen saturation dropped significantly, my family doctor reacted immediately and referred me to the Freising Clinic,” reports the MP.

That was a week ago.

Ventilation and transfer to the intensive care unit were not necessary.

“But I'm still pretty weak,” reports Irlstorfer.

“When you lie in bed, you think about all the things that need to be done.

But when you come back from showering, you will be very happy that you can go back to bed. "

But: “We are heading in the right direction,” says Irlstorfer, “things are slowly improving”.

Irlstorfer feels that he is in very good hands at the Freising Clinic: “I am in good hands.” The rest of the family is at home - with clear symptoms of illness such as fever, back pain and symptoms of colds.
