STORY - If Donald Trump is already eyeing the White House with a view to 2024, there was a time when once they left the executive house, these men first had to find sources of income for lack of compensation.


Donald Trump has been walking for a few hours in the footsteps of the 35 men (the others succumbed during their mandate) who took before him the often winding roads of the post-presidency.

"While having many more options for their 'retirement' than the rest of us, this transition is difficult for them and their choices range from decency to disaster, from altruism to greed",

notes Stacy A. Cordery, historian and professor at Iowa State University.
