The main countries to which Israel exported to a greater extent than imports in 2020 are first and foremost the United States, followed by Brazil, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, Canada, Slovenia and Mexico, according to a summary of trade data published today (Wednesday) by the CBS.

The largest trade deficit (surplus imports over exports) was recorded with Switzerland, amounting to NIS 16.8 billion, Germany with NIS 12.2 billion, China with NIS 11.9 billion, Turkey, Italy, Belgium and Hong Kong.

Gross exports of goods amounted to NIS 171.9 billion.

This is a decrease of NIS 36.8 billion, ie a decrease of 17.6% compared to the previous year - 2019. Gross imports of goods amounted to NIS 240.4 billion.

This is a decrease of NIS 32.9 billion, ie 12%.

The gross trade deficit amounted to NIS 68.5 billion - an increase of 6.1% compared to the deficit in 2019. The decrease in exports from Israel included most targets - exports of goods to the US decreased by 21.1% which is NIS 12 billion, exports of goods to Asian countries decreased by 19%, which is NIS 9.1 billion, exports of goods to EU countries decreased by 18.6%, ie NIS 11.5 billion and exports of goods to the rest of the world decreased by 10%, ie NIS 4.2 billion.

The main decrease in imports of goods was from the United States - a decrease of 29.1%, ie NIS 12.2 billion. Imports from the rest of the world group decreased by 19.9% ​​- NIS 14.1 billion. Imports from EU countries decreased by 5.6% - NIS 5.5 billion and imports from Asian countries It decreased by 1.8%, which is NIS 1.1 billion. The trade deficit with the EU countries amounted to NIS 42.5 billion last year, an increase of 12.8% compared to the deficit in 2019. The trade deficit with Asian countries, excluding diamonds, amounted to 2020. At NIS 22.9 billion, compared to NIS 20.9 billion in 2019.

The deficit in the trade in goods with the rest of the world group amounted to NIS 17.3 billion in 2020.

This is a decrease of NIS 10.5 billion compared to 2019. On the other hand, trade in goods with the United States had a surplus of NIS 8.7 billion (exports are larger than imports), compared with a deficit of NIS 1.7 billion in 2019.

The countries to which exports of goods totaled more than NIS 5 billion are: the United States with NIS 35.5 billion, China with NIS 14.3 billion, the United Kingdom with NIS 12.3 billion, the Netherlands with NIS 8.5 billion and Germany with NIS 5.7 billion.
