Tehran-SANA
Today, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the US decision to designate the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement a "terrorist organization".
"This measure consecrates and deepens the worst humanitarian crisis in the current century and disrupts the ongoing efforts to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis," Fars news agency quoted the ministry’s spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh.
He added that "the actions of the Trump administration's State Department in recent days of stirring up international and regional tensions have been rejected by the international community and international forums and were welcomed only by a handful of warmongers."
He explained that "if the new American administration is looking to reconsider its failed policy in the Yemeni crisis, this requires nullifying the aforementioned measure and adopting a realistic view of the existing facts in Yemen."
Khatibzadeh called for an end to political and military support, including the ban on arms sales by some countries, including the United States.
Last Thursday, United Nations officials called, during a meeting at the UN Security Council, for the United States to cancel its decision against the Ansar Allah movement, warning that it would impede peace efforts in Yemen.
