Lattakia-Sana

The Director of Lattakia Agriculture, Engineer Munther Khair Bey, revealed that 2,800 farmers affected by fires will be compensated out of 4,609 farmers who submitted objections to not being included in compensation as a result of not being present in their villages during the determination of the damages or as a result of errors in estimating these damages.

Khair Bey explained to the SANA Economic Bulletin that tables have been identified with the names of those affected who are eligible for compensation, and the Ministry of Agriculture has requested funding for this purpose at a value of 3 billion, pointing out that most of the farmers received their dues from the fire compensation, where 16,600 farmers were compensated with a total value of 11 billion and 200 million pounds.

With regard to compensation for damages caused to the beneficiaries of state property, it is clear to you that compensation is made for every state property with which a statutory lease contract is concluded, and compensation is not made for cases of similar wages in the event of encroachment on these properties because this procedure is illegal as agriculture resorted to Equivalent wages when violations occur, to return wages to the state treasury.

Regarding the measures taken to help farmers re-reclaim their damaged lands, Kheir reminded you that the Directorate of Agriculture provides appropriate instructions to farmers and is working on uprooting dead trees with their machinery for free and compensating the farmers for them with free planting as well. There are 9 "early" bulldozers dedicated to this purpose, as the areas that have been reached reached Totally uprooting dead trees, 1,000 dunums in Jabla, and the work is continuing. The necessary fertilizer will be provided soon, so that farmers can serve their trees and fertilize their crops.
