The Spring of Childhood Festival in Homs hosted interactive reading sessions for children, two theater performances, and a chess activity at the City's Culture Directorate.

The children’s department in the district hosted early childhood recreational activities that were held in cooperation with the family centers of the Aga Khan Foundation. Rasha Muhammad indicated that about 35 children and girls under the age of 7 years of age participated in the activities, who came from different areas of Homs to participate actively in reading stories and paragraphs of play and fun interspersed with learning words In English.

In turn, Hala Warda, a lead trainer in the Early Childhood Department of the Aga Khan Foundation, said that the activities include communication skills, psychosocial support, and the promotion of positive behavior through various methods, including reading stories and puppet theater, with the aim of teaching the child participatory activities with his peers and giving simple educational concepts to children who have not yet attended kindergarten.

The writer Abdul Moein Al-Mallouhi hall also hosted the two theatrical performances The Smurfs and the Letters of Love, the language of peace for the Child's Friends band from the city of Salamiyah, Hama, where between the Sakhr Kulthum, the director of the two shows, the Smurfs play talks about the importance of preserving the environment as an educational condition and moral value and is directed at children of all age groups interspersed with humorous paragraphs To plant smile and joy in the hearts of children.

While the play “Letters of Love” embodies the language of peace, according to the director, the issue of preserving the Arabic language through a dramatic text in which images of attempts to distort this language and harm its beautiful letters are evident.

Children Ali Salama, Nagham Al-Shami and Gulnar Mihoub said that the performances provided fun and interest, and the characters were close to the children and liked them.

In a related context, the Friends of the Book Forum organized a chess activity in the children's section of the directorate with the aim of stimulating the child's imagination and developing his mental skills, according to Rola Hassan, director of the forum, who explained that this activity is a synonym for drawing and reading activities that the forum organizes in the children's section on a weekly basis.

In turn, the international chess player and trainer, Shadi Abbas, stated that the activity was available to children starting from the age of five and was well received, noting the importance of chess in developing mental and mathematical skills among children.
