After two postponements in recent months, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to leave in about two weeks for a three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain - Walla learned today (Thursday)!
NEWS.
The visit is expected to take place between February 9 and 11, but may be postponed again if an extension of the closure is necessary.
Netanyahu is expected to arrive in Abu Dhabi on February 9 and meet with Regent Muhammad bin Zayed.
On February 10, Netanyahu is expected to visit Dubai and focus on economic meetings, and on February 11 he will pay a short visit to Manama, the capital of Bahrain, where he will meet with King Hemed bin Issa al-Khalifa and Regent Salman bin Hemed bin Issa al-Khalifa.
This will be the first ever public and official visit by an Israeli prime minister to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Senior officials note that Netanyahu is interested in visiting both the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain on the same trip, so the visit will be closed only after receiving final approval from the two countries.
At the end of December, Netanyahu postponed his trip to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, which was scheduled to take place in the first week of January.
The reason for the postponement was the government's decision on a third closure due to the increase in morbidity.

This was the second time in a month that Netanyahu's trip to the Gulf was postponed a few days before it was scheduled to take place.
At the end of November, Netanyahu's trip to Abu Dhabi and Manama, scheduled for the first week of December, was canceled.
The reason for the cancellation then was a request from the Bahrain government.
Following the cancellation of Netanyahu's visit, the visit of Foreign Minister Ashkenazi was also canceled.
The fact that Netanyahu's visit to the Gulf has been repeatedly postponed is delaying all ministerial trips to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Netanyahu ordered all government ministers not to fly to these two countries until he visited there himself.
In addition, the first date set for Netanyahu's visit is that the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain also announced that there will be no visits by Israeli ministers until Netanyahu's visit.
