Aviv Agam, a young man from Be'er Sheva who was recently discharged from military service, was so shocked by the violence from a number of Bedouin youths that he and his partner experienced, that this morning (Thursday) he posted a harsh and poignant post about the incident on the Be'er Sheva Together Facebook page. A thousand people.

In a post he wrote, Agam turned to Mayor Rubik Danilovich, asking him to take immediate action to eradicate the recently prevalent phenomenon in the city, where young Bedouin make the city their own.

"This is not another story from a horror movie, this is no longer a complaint or burglary to a house or car. My story tonight is different, a step up. My life, tonight, was received as a gift."

"First, I have no desire in this post to stir up or be a racist against one public or another," Agam added.

"My goal is to raise the level of awareness of the rising crime in the city, to a real life-threatening level, which I experienced tonight. Towards 01:00, I was sitting with my friend in my car, in the parking lot in Be'er Sheva. I looked back and saw three masked figures, with an accent. "An Arab, armed with knives and machetes, who quickly opened the door of my car, pinned a knife to my stomach and made me beg for my life. At the last minute, before that person attacked me, my screams and pleas probably affected, and finally he got in my car and drove away.

"In the vehicle were my and my girlfriend's new cell phones, which we bought from the military grant money after our hard military service (the phones were thrown away in their escape route, and in an unknown location)," he wrote in the post.

"At the same time, they took my wallet, which was full all my life or so. The same people drove with the vehicle and left me without shoes and pants, they ordered me to take off, and drove away quickly."

"Luckily, after a 10-minute walk, a police car happened to arrive in the area. I share my story out of a desire to put an end to the growing violence in our city, in order to stop the feeling of insecurity and helplessness in the city. Absurd, "I cared and acted day and night for the security of the country from the outside, I can not feel safe on the streets of my city and in my country. I call on the mayor to increase enforcement and the sense of security that does not exist in our city," the young man concluded.

Following the incident, Danilovich was shocked and sent an urgent letter to the Minister of Internal Security, Amir Ohana, demanding that steps be taken in light of the rampant violence and crime among minorities against the residents of Beer Sheva and the Negev.

A municipal spokesman responded: "These events, especially in recent months, leave no room for doubt. Action must be taken to eradicate the phenomenon. The mayor intends to meet soon with Minister Ohana and discuss the issue."
