A fire broke out at the largest cerum vaccine production institute in India and the world in Pune, Maharashtra, southwest India, today.
The Associated Press quoted local officials as saying, "The fire caused a large cloud of smoke over the institute's site and it was controlled without any injuries."
Millions of doses of the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford are currently being produced at the institute against Coronavirus.
The officials indicated that the production of anti-corona vaccines was not affected by the fire, and investigations are being conducted to reveal the causes of the fire and the extent of damage.
