Reducing prices and shortening times:

Israel and Morocco signed an agreement today (Thursday) to operate direct flights between the two countries.

This is the third aviation agreement recently signed following the process of normalization between Israel and the Arab states, following agreements with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

The agreement was signed by Yishai Don Yahya, Director of the Senior Division of Economics and International Relations at the RTA, and his Moroccan counterpart Tariq Talibi.

The airline agreement will allow the operation of direct passenger flights between Israel and all international airports in Morocco, without restrictions on the number of companies and the volume of flights, as well as up to 10 weekly cargo flights directly to each party.

The direct flights between Israel and Morocco will lead to lower ticket prices and a significant reduction in flight times, compared to the current situation that requires passengers to change planes at stopovers.

According to the plan, the national airline, Royal Air Morocco (RAM), will soon start operating three weekly flights on advanced Dreamliner aircraft between Tel Aviv and Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco and the country's economic center.

Israeli airlines have also already announced their intention to operate regular routes to Morocco as soon as possible.

Further flights are also planned to Marrakesh, the historic and cultural capital of Morocco which has been declared a World Heritage Site and attracts millions of tourists every year.

Both cities had a glorious Jewish community with a long history and a rich cultural heritage.

Transport Minister Miri Regev: "The signing of the aviation agreement with Morocco is a historic breakthrough in relations between the two peoples. "The Kingdom of Morocco and other countries. There is no doubt that this will be a shot of encouragement to the Israeli aviation industry, which is expected to enjoy the expected demand for flights on this route."
