Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov condemned the US decision to re-list Cuba on (Washington’s list of states sponsoring terrorism), stressing the need to lift the unjust economic blockade imposed on it.

According to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry reported by Sputnik, “The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Cuban Bruno Rodriguez discussed in a telephone call today a number of issues of common interest, and Russia's position of solidarity with Cuba on the need to lift the trade, economic and financial blockade that it was previously exposed to. United State".

The statement indicated that issues of developing bilateral strategic partnership, including the commercial and economic fields, were also discussed, and the two sides affirmed their countries' determination to deepen cooperation in priority areas.

On the 11th of this month, the administration of former US President Donald Trump re-included Cuba in its list of states sponsoring terrorism, after the administration of his predecessor Barack Obama had removed Cuba from this list.
