District - Employees of the District Office packed more than 17,000 FFP2 masks in envelopes on Wednesday and Thursday.
The envelopes are now being sent by post to people in need in the district.
FFP2 masks, which have been mandatory since January 18, will be provided to those in need in the Freising district over the next few days.
This includes the recipients of basic security benefits (unemployed according to SGB II, basic security in old age and in the case of reduced earning capacity and assistance with subsistence).
In addition, more than 14,000 masks were sent to the communities so that they could be distributed in the homeless shelters and given to caregivers (see Freising notification in the margin).
The three food banks in the district each received 500 FFP2 masks for their customers who have not otherwise received a mask.
The Freising women's shelter was also supplied.
As
entitlement to the caring relatives
, they must present the decision of the care insurance, in which the care level and the main caring relatives, to the municipality.
The masks can be picked up from the local government from next week.

Good to know
■
The FFP2 mask requirement has been in effect since Monday for local public transport such as buses and trains (with train stations and stops) as well as in retail outlets, when visiting the doctor or at church services.
■
In retail, it only applies to customers, not to employees.
An FFP2 mask must be worn in the sales rooms, on the sales area, in the entrance and waiting areas in front of the sales rooms and in the associated parking spaces.
■
FFP2 masks are also required in the vaccination center and at the district recycling centers.
