Markus Söder has a wife and children - many voters know that.

We show what else the Prime Minister reveals about his private life.

Markus Söder: wife, children, hobbies - the prime minister in private life

Munich - On March 16, 2018, Markus Söder was elected Prime Minister of Bavaria.

Now he led the CSU for the first time as the top candidate for the state election in Bavaria in autumn 2018, but there was only 35.5 percent - according to initial projections.

For a man whose party has just achieved a historically poor result, Markus Söder looks quite composed on election evening.

He expresses "humility" in view of the crash and announces detailed analyzes.

Above all, however, the 51-year-old presents himself as the old and new strong man in the Free State of Bavaria - although the voters have migrated in droves and the absolute majority of the CSU is gone.

"We have to look ahead," says Söder.

"We'll take responsibility and get better."

The clear government mandate lies with his party.

The prime minister and top candidate led the CSU to a historically poor result - and could still benefit from it.

Markus Söder: His private life remains largely private

As a politician, many of his opponents find the CSU man direct, loud and uncomfortable.

The statesman is seen as consistently closed when it comes to his private life.

However, selected facts are known.

We'll show you Markus Söder's wife and tell you more about the politician's private life.

Markus Söder had a child before the marriage - with another woman

For Markus Söder, the relationship with his wife Karin was not the first serious relationship.

In 1991, the then 24-year-old met a woman in Nuremberg with whom he was to have his first child.

According to

sueddeutsche.de,

 the

first encounter took place

in the tanning salon.

Ulrike B., according to the newspaper media clerk and at the time CSU voter, allegedly worked in 1991 in the said tanning salon, where Markus Söder is said to have been a customer.

He immediately asked her for her phone number, which is said to have resulted in a casual relationship between the two of them for years.

In December 1998 Markus Söder's first daughter was born: Gloria.

Perhaps it was because an illegitimate child did not have a career-enhancing effect for a CSU man, perhaps the then aspiring politician simply had too little time - at least 31-year-old Markus Söder wanted the woman who would become the mother of his child According to

sueddeutsche.de

neither marry nor spend a lot of time with daughter Gloria.

At the time of his daughter's birth, he had already known his current wife: Karin Baumüller, the daughter of a respected Nuremberg industrialist.
