(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 20 - "We must decide soon" to "give certainty" to schools and students and "offer a clear picture". The next Maturity "will take into account the current year" but must in any case be a "complete, serious, capable of offering an adequate picture of the students' competences". This was assured by Minister Lucia Azzolina speaking last night at the majority meeting with the representatives of the competent committees of the Chamber and Senate, according to what ANSA is able to learn. "No definitive decision has yet been taken, explained the Minister". Two hypotheses are being worked on: according to the first, the exam of last year is modeled, with only one oral test in the presence, in front of a commission of internal teachers; the second hypothesis foresees a single written test (instead of two) and an oral test. It is very likely, however, that there will not be a generalized admission, as there was a year ago. Like that the Invalsi tests (which will probably take place) and the alternation between school and work will not be a requirement for admission. The parliamentarians expressed the need to take into account the situation that schools are experiencing, also in light of the various regional ordinances, without however diminishing the value and importance of the exam. The Ministry is listening, in these days, to the voices and proposals of students, families, teachers' associations and trade unions.
