Builders can look forward to: A new version of the Bavarian Building Regulations will come into force on February 1st of this year.

- The main goal is to create more living space more easily in order to meet the increasing demand - both in terms of time and space.
The amendment therefore offers more leeway, among other things in the form of additional permit exemptions.
In addition, for example, the attic expansion is simplified and the building material wood is promoted.
While the communities of Gmund and Otterfing for their part put statutes in motion on Tuesday evening in order to curb what they considered to be undesirable easing, the new building regulations, for example in Miesbach, have not yet been an issue.
Due to the corona, the meetings of the city council and building committee had so far been reduced to the bare minimum.
Information is planned for the next meeting of the building committee.
The new building regulations are primarily an issue for the district office as the approval authority for building projects as well as for builders and architects.
The reductions in the spacing areas are particularly interesting for municipalities.
The law gives them the option of using the articles of association to revert to earlier regulations, but commercial and core areas as well as defined urban areas are excluded.
Gmund and Otterfing have already made use of this option and point out that larger distances definitely shape the townscape.
It was originally planned that the complex with the spacing areas would not come into force until February 1, 2022.
Cities and municipalities would have had twelve months to examine the topic in peace and, if necessary, to issue a statute.
However, this was rejected in the course of the legislative process - the spacing areas will now apply from February 2021.
To this end, the local council has drawn up a model statute for the local authorities.
