In Paris, not everyone will have been confined in 2020: the agents of the Department of Prevention, Security and Protection of the City of Paris continued to roam the streets of the capital and distribute tickets.
The number of fines is certainly down 22% compared to 2019, but 1.3 million tickets were still distributed throughout the year.
Traffic offenses in the sights
Inconvenient parking on pedestrian crossings, bicycle locks invaded by cars, scooters rolling in bus lanes ... with 1,181,924 PV recorded in 2020, traffic violations represent 91% of violations reported by the DPSP last year.
A figure down 23% compared to 2019. "The drop in the number of these offenses was mainly observed during the first confinement", we explain to the City, which is all in all logical: it is during this period travel was the most limited last year.
On the other hand, the months of September and December 2020 greatly exceeded the 2019 figures in terms of verbalizations, reaching + 40% in December 2020.
The vast majority of these minutes concerned inconvenient parking (808,627 fines) and 277,636 traffic offenses.
Infractions on cycle lanes and bus lanes are up sharply (+ 17% and + 24.5%) compared to last year.
The multiplication of coronapists in the spring during deconfinement undoubtedly partly explains this phenomenon.

Soft pedal on incivilities
The local police that the mayor of Paris wants to put in place has not frankly verbalized much of the small daily incivilities over the year 2020. In any case, the number of VP increased by 13.1% with 1,459 VP distributed to dog lovers.
Health vigilance
