For the third day in a row, the Russian health authorities recorded today less than 22 thousand new infections with the Coronavirus during the past 24 hours, which indicates a decline in the spread of the virus due to the measures taken to address it.

The special operations room to combat the spread of the virus in Russia stated that 21,887 infections and 612 new deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of infections to 3655839 and deaths to 67,832, while 3054218 people recovered.

New infections are distributed among all the 85 regions of Russia, in the forefront of which is the capital, Moscow, with 3,458 cases, and the second largest city in the country, Saint Petersburg, 3112, and 10.8 percent of the new patients did not show symptoms of infection.

To date, more than 98 million laboratory tests have been performed in Russia to diagnose cases of corona, and more than 634,000 people are still under medical supervision.

In the past weeks, Russia has recorded a gradual decline in the pace of the Corona outbreak, due to the continuation of the large-scale free vaccination campaign that was launched last December using the (Sputnik V) vaccine, which is the first vaccine against the coronavirus in the world.
