Syria condemned in the strongest terms the two terrorist attacks that took place in the center of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and claimed the lives of a large number of innocent citizens, stressing that these attacks once again demonstrate the need for concerted efforts to combat terrorism.
An official source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to SANA today: The Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the two terrorist attacks that took place in Tayaran Square in central Baghdad that killed a large number of innocent citizens and injured others.
The source added that these cowardly terrorist attacks once again demonstrate the need for concerted efforts in order to combat terrorism until the complete eradication of this scourge, which constitutes a serious threat to security and stability in the region and the world.
The source concluded by saying that the Syrian Arab Republic, expressing its full solidarity and sympathy with brotherly Iraq over these treacherous terrorist attacks, offers its sincere condolences to the leadership and people of brotherly Iraq and the families of the bereaved victims, with wishes for a speedy recovery for the wounded.
