Facilitating matriculation - also next year: The

Ministry of Education announced today (Thursday) that also in the next school year, 2002, students will be examined in only five external matriculation exams. In the other subjects, students will be examined in school exams and grades will be determined by schools. In English, mathematics and language, in one humane subject (literature, citizenship, Bible and more) and in one enhanced subject (the major chosen by the student).

In addition, there are further concessions regarding the upcoming winter and summer exams.

For example, all students who take the matriculation exam will receive a 25% extra time in each exam.

In addition, the language exams will be facilitated (two texts instead of three) and a mechanism will not be activated that normalizes the grades given by the schools, as was done in the matriculation exams in the previous school year (2005) and caused a stir because it affected many students in April. A possible date for improving the grade is also possible, so that in fact February will be the first date and April will be the second date for improving the grade. The higher of the two is the one that will be taken into account. This option is open to all schools and students. 5771.

Additional facilitations to be provided: As part of the examination outline for the 2021 school year, schools are given the opportunity to report school evaluation scores from external matriculation converters. Students' scores should reflect their achievements in exams and assignments throughout the year and their level of knowledge. .

In addition, it was decided to reduce the scope of social involvement - due to the restrictions imposed following the Corona virus, 90 hours of social involvement will be required instead of 146 hours for eligibility for a matriculation certificate.

Another relief is the return of the compensation mechanism (compensation).

It was decided to retroactively apply the compensation rules to graduates of 2020 and also to graduates of 2021.

Accordingly, an additional 867 students will be eligible for a matriculation certificate.

The eligibility of the relevant students will be updated in the office and school systems. 

This is the third round of facilitation given to students in which a reduction in the number of exams, multiple choice options and more.

The Ministry of Education is also planning to facilitate the matriculation exams in mathematics, science and technology subjects to be held this summer.   

It should be mentioned that following the decision to extend the closure, the format exams and the winter matriculation exams for 11th and 12th grade students were excluded in order to allow students to come to the schools and take the exams.

In accordance with the matriculation calendar for the winter of 1951, the matriculation examination in English will be held next Sunday, and in about two weeks on February 1, the matriculation examination in mathematics will be held.

The winter date of the matriculation exams will end on February 25, 2021. After that, as part of the adjustments given by the ministry, the matriculation date will be opened in April.
