The ultra-Orthodox majority is no longer silent against the violators of the guidelines, but the reality is still far from changing
Documentation of the open gates of ultra-Orthodox educational institutions has flooded concerns about the spread of the corona in the sector.
Many in the community have decided to stop looking in frustration from the side, the ultra-Orthodox media has mobilized and some are begging for police enforcement.
Compared to those who internalized the great danger, for others the Torah life is stronger than anything

In the video: Despite the restrictions of closure Yeshivot and Talmud Torah swelled to studies (Photo: Roni Kanfo and Niv Aharonson)
This week I received a message from a person I do not know.
He claimed that his nephews were studying at an ultra-Orthodox institution in Jerusalem that was operating in violation of the guidelines, and wrote to me almost begging me to contact the police to prevent my studies.
I asked him to explain the approach he was taking.
"My sister," he testified.
"Crying from the load of morbidity. Why aren't the police approaching there? Parents don't want to send the children but are afraid of missing study material because the principal is developing. If there is one patient, the morbidity spreads to all neighborhoods."
In another case, a resident of Elad sent me a video documenting the violations in a community synagogue in the city center, and wrote: "Everyone knows there is no enforcement. Not just the disease here in heaven. This abandonment must be stopped. I speak out of pain of the majority who keep the guidelines and are disappointed. A large part is going against the guidelines. "

These messages teach about the complex reality in the ultra-Orthodox world in dealing with the corona virus, a reality that ranges from the need to preserve and be preserved to the desire to continue a Torah and community life.
In this complex reality, a turning point was recorded this week.
The ultra-Orthodox majority decided to stop looking at frustration or anger from the side, waving a black flag against the violators of the guidelines.
The entire ultra-Orthodox media has mobilized for a peaceful campaign with nicknames such as "murderers" and "bloodshed," and some ultra-Orthodox are begging for police enforcement, which is usually absent.

A soaring morbidity rate, a dizzying mortality rate and the image damage outside are what have led to change.
This is a central and important voice, perhaps thanks to it there will be a change here, but in the meantime a tour of cities like Elad, Bnei Brak and Beitar Illit or a transition between the ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods in Jerusalem reveals that the reality is still far from change.
Synagogues are open and mass minyanim are held, Torah studies are gradually returning to school and weddings are still held in secret.
True, this is not the ultra-Orthodox majority, but it has long been not just an extreme fringe, and so far there is only one conclusion to be made: most ultra-Orthodox have internalized the great danger, but for some the life of the Torah and the community is stronger.
