Islam in France is going through a new crisis, torn apart by a sort of republican test imposed by the government on future imams.
Concretely, this republican test is a "charter" of values, the final version of which was presented Monday, January 18 to the President of the Republic by the French Council of Muslim Worship.
In particular, political Islam and its foreign influences are banned.
But also concepts such as gender inequality or the prohibition on leaving Islam for another religion.
This charter is therefore a true protocol of republican and Muslim good behavior, affirming the “compatibility” of these two memberships.
Until they unite, black and white, by a "pact" which will be formally signed.
It will make it possible to label the 2,500 imams - or to exclude the recalcitrant - practicing on French soil by 2024.
