The Council of State on Thursday suspended the freeze on the issuance of family reunification visas to spouses and children of non-European foreigners residing in France, decided by the government because of the health crisis.

This measure is
"a disproportionate attack on the right to normal family life and the best interests of the child,"
said the Council of State in a statement accompanying its decision. As part of the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic, the government decided in March 2020 to limit the circulation on the national territory of people coming from abroad.
