Finally snow, finally another child again - a ray of hope for my son in the pandemic (symbol picture)

Last week snow and rain trickled into our garden, next to a fine white layer on the grass, the first mud puddles were already forming in the sandpit.
Still, my son grabbed my cell phone and called our neighbor: "Let's make a snowman!" He yelled into the phone.
In no time he put on snow pants, jacket, scarf and gloves, tore open the apartment door and disappeared with the words: "Mom, I finally have a social life again!"

It is his first date with a person of the same age since the mandatory attendance for Hamburg students was lifted on December 16.
As much as I understood how necessary the restrictions are to contain the corona pandemic, it is difficult to implement them.

And also for me as a single parent.
We experienced firsthand how important it is to limit one's contacts: One day before Christmas Eve we received a call from a family friend with whom my son was in close contact.
They had been tested three days before Christmas, actually only to protect themselves against visiting their grandparents.
Now all family members got the message that they were Corona-positive.
They spent Christmas in quarantine.
So my son and I drove to a testing center on Christmas Eve.
Fortunately we weren't infected.
