An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck a site at sea between the Greek island of Crete and Kasos, without any immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Greek media quoted the Athens Geodynamics Geophysical Institute as saying that "the site of the earthquake was determined about 49 kilometers northwest of Cassos and at a depth of 27.5 kilometers under the sea."
A devastating earthquake hit the Aegean Sea off the coast of Greece, with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale, last October, killing two people and wounding eight.
