Hans Ritz was deeply rooted in his home community Faistenhaar.

With his old-timer friends, he was the decisive driving force behind the old-timer meeting, which is known far beyond the municipality's borders.

Family, friends and companions mourn a determined and popular person.

Faistenhaar

- On January 10th, Hans Ritz died at the age of 82 after a serious illness with his family.

At home in Faistenhaar, according to his last wish.

The funeral took place in close family circle.

Nevertheless, the family had created a worthy setting for friends and companions.

The morgue was open for five hours and accompanied by gentle musical sounds so that companions could say goodbye.

"His will was very strong right up to the end," said Franz Ritz to his father.

He didn't want to take his last breath in the Harlaching Hospital.

“Hoam wanted, there was no mistaking”, is how the youngest of three offspring of Hans Ritz describes the strong determination of his father in the name of his mother Helga and the siblings Max and Johanna.

Own gas station when she was only 19 years old

Hans Ritz was always characterized by courage and determination.

After attending school in Faistenhaar, the then fifteen-year-old first completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic at Völkl in Feldkirchen.

He always covered the daily distance of a good 30 kilometers by bike, "in summer as in winter", the son confirms.

Only when he had tinkered with enough of his own moped and it was roadworthy did he switch.

Hans Ritz was just 19 years old when he opened his own gas station at home in Faistenhaar in 1957 after completing his training.

Four years later, the company's own car workshop was launched in the same location - again significantly expanded in 1962 by a Ford car dealership.

Quasi by the way, Hans Ritz passed his master craftsman's examination in 1963.

“He was a successful businessman for over 60 years, loved the contact with his customers in his gas station and in the car dealership - and above all he was a good father and husband,” says his son Franz.

The father was always true to himself.

Also in private full drive.

In 1966 he took Helga Gröbmair to the altar, and the three children were born within four years.

The joy and star of the eyes of "Grandpa" Hans Ritz were later his four granddaughters.

Big soccer fan

Football was also a passion until the end.

He would have loved to continue his kicker circles as a young adult, but as a new businessman the risk of injury was too great.

His love for his FC Bayern remained lifelong, and he has accompanied them to Moscow on trips abroad.

But despite all the longing for the distance, for skiing holidays and the particularly cherished and well-groomed Sunday rides such as vacation trips on the motorcycle to the Isle of Man or to Sicily, Hans Ritz was a down-to-earth, homeland-connected person.

“My old motorcycles and classic cars, that's a real passion,” he said once at a classic car meeting.

Deeply rooted in club life

He was deeply rooted in local club life.

In the veterans club, church council, sports club or with the curlingers.

As a wedding host and Gstanzl singer, he also impressed with his gifted talent as a joke-teller.

As an amateur theater player, he also expressed his zest for life.

"Whenever I tell you, shine sunbeams into our souls," said his death picture.

Anyone who got to know Hans Ritz can only agree with this feeling.
