The deputies of La République en Marche will have to take a position on the issue of incest on February 18, during the parliamentary niche of the PS group in the Assembly.
Socialist deputy Isabelle Santiago will present a bill aiming, by its article 3, to introduce a threshold of
"non-consent"
for incest at 18 years.
The elected representative of Val-de-Marne submitted her text at the end of December to the Assembly, that is to say before the “Duhamel affair” and tens of thousands of testimonies on social networks, around the hashtag #MeTooInceste, erupted.
"I was caught up by the news,"
explains Isabelle Santiago.

This bill also has a political stake.
The government knows that majority support for this text would give the Socialists a boost.
It is already written: the bill adopted, the party of Olivier Faure would pride itself on having allowed a breakthrough of the law on this societal subject.
