A few days ago, Xavier Gorce was the creaky cartoonist of
Le Monde
.
Some liked him, others less, but all suited his talent, even if he gave in to the delights of demonization from time to time.
Unfortunately, it is his turn to discover that the left always comes to banish from its ranks those who do not walk at its pace.
One of his drawings struck social media users and the management of the self-proclaimed reference newspaper decided to disavow it, apologizing for having published it, in addition to kneeling in front of those who would have been upset by caricature, to make an act of contrition.
After ideologically sinning, they recited their prayers, swearing not to do it again.
The design was certainly in the worst taste, and could very legitimately be offensive, but the real scandal nonetheless lies in the ability of the digital pack today to impose a code of conduct on newspapers by causing a tsunami.
