Russia has warned the United States against interfering in its internal affairs, condemning the US embassy in Moscow publishing information about places and times of unauthorized demonstrations.
Sputnik news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement today that “The US embassy in Moscow publishes information about the places and times of unauthorized demonstrations on its website and an attempt to cover these events will be assessed as a blatant interference in internal affairs, and will require an appropriate response.”
The statement added that "all of this is consistent with the provocative approach of Washington to provoke demonstrations in countries with inappropriate governments."
Earlier today, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that calls to participate in unauthorized gatherings and urged young people and children to join them are unacceptable, commenting on calls on social media to go out in demonstrations tomorrow in solidarity with Russian politician Alexei Navalny.
