The start of the Planegger vaccination center has been delayed.

Originally, the beginning of February was planned, but the district still lacks approval from the Bavarian Ministry of Health.

Planegg

- The fourth corona vaccination center in the Munich district after Haar, Oberhaching and Unterschleißheim is to be set up in the Park & Ride car park west of the Planegg train station.

“The development work is in progress,” said District Administrator Christoph Göbel in a press conference on Thursday.

Around 30 containers are to be accommodated in the northern part of the parking lot, lined up on the side facing away from the tracks, and in the middle part of the facility on two floors.

At least this is what the plans in the Planegger town hall look like.

The operator has been put out to tender, and the containers are expected to be delivered in mid-February.

"The vaccination center could go into operation on February 22nd at the earliest," said Göbel, but it dampens expectations: "We still need a lot of coordination with the superior authorities."

"Demanding software"

The desire for a fourth vaccination center had "not caused much enthusiasm".

According to Göbel, this is mainly due to the “sophisticated software” that has been used to register for an vaccination appointment across Bavaria since January 11th.

The BayIMCO program initially had difficulties in assigning places with the same postcode, such as Planegg and Krailling, to the correct vaccination center.

That has since been fixed.

If, however, a new vaccination center is set up, the postcodes for which it is to be responsible must be separated from the previous schemes and migrated.

One seems to shy away from that at the moment.

Göbel does not want to do without the Planegger vaccination center: “It is so important to me because we are a large district.” Even if the residents were to be divided into four vaccination centers, they would still have to give more vaccinations than in other districts.

So far, when the Würmtaler have a vaccination appointment, they have to go to Unterschleißheim in order to be immunized in the local center at the Volksfestplatz.

Whether the supply area of the Planegger contact point will extend beyond the Würmtal is "under investigation".

1468 district citizens have been provided with a first dose of mRNA-based vaccine since vaccination began in the centers two weeks ago.

A total of 6,277 people have been vaccinated so far, and the mobile vaccination teams have given 3411 vaccinations to residents and employees in 34 of the 42 old people's homes and nursing homes in the district.

674 people have already received the second vaccination.

"Unfortunately, this is still a high level," said Göbel about the number of Covid 19 diseases in the facilities.

110 residents in ten homes and 51 employees in 19 homes are currently infected.

So far, 760 employees in clinics have been vaccinated and the second vaccinations have just started there.
