A Sakhnin resident serving a prison sentence after assaulting his wife, accused of threatening to harm her, their children and her family.

According to the indictment filed against him yesterday (Thursday) in the Magistrate's Court in Acre, the prisoner, in his 20s, called his wife about two weeks ago and threatened her that he would stab and kill her after he was released from prison.

According to his wife, who complained against him, the defendant threatened to harm their young children and parents as well.

"During one of the conversations from the prison, the defendant threatened to harm his wife's sisters and rape them," police said.

The evidence against the prisoner was collected as part of the Misgav police investigation that was opened following the complaint. "His detention was extended from time to time," the police noted, "and yesterday the police prosecution division filed an indictment against him for threats and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings."
