The district court director fears that this could lead to a concentration after the pandemic.

Miesbach -

Not too many negotiations are currently taking place at the Miesbach district court.

“I haven't had any this week,” says Klaus-Jürgen Schmid, director of the local court, for example.

The corona pandemic is responsible for this.

However, the director does not have an overview of how many cases his fellow judges are currently negotiating.

Judges themselves decide how to conduct negotiations

Every judge has to decide for himself “whether he wants to conduct negotiations or not,” said Schmid.

Regarding the general thrust, he says: “We are currently trying to shut down the whole thing as best we can.” The reason is obvious: In the judiciary, too, it is important to minimize the risk of infection as far as possible.

From his point of view, however, the “most important negotiations” should take place.

FFP2 masks are welcome but not compulsory

But shutting down also means: A large number of meetings have been canceled for the time being.

According to Director Schmid, it is therefore clear that “sooner or later a whole wave of negotiations will come our way”.

Perhaps they would even have an FFP2 mask requirement, but the district court director does not want to commit himself.

“We haven't had an FFP2 mask rule yet,” he explains, adding: “Of course, there can be a rule change in this regard every day.” In any case, he would appreciate it if everyone in the meeting room wore the type of mask like it has been compulsory in all public transport and shops since the beginning of this week (we reported).

“If someone has one, they should be happy to put it on,” says Schmid.

good example: "I always

wear

an FFP2 mask at my meetings."
