Up until now, children and young people in the Gröbenzeller library had puppy protection when it came to the late delivery of books.
Now it is over.

- The majority of the Groebenzell municipal council has decided to partially increase the so-called late fee for the library.
It remains at the 20 cents per opening day on which a book, DVD or CD is handed in too late.
However, children and young people now have to shell out this price as well.
So far, they only had to raise ten cents.
A new feature was also introduced that reminders must be paid for the loan period that has been exceeded.
The first reminder costs one, the second five and the third seven euros.
The interlibrary loan fee will also be more expensive in the future: it will rise from one euro to 2.50 euros.
And the replacement of a lost library card costs five euros - twice as much as before.
The good news: the fees for using the library remain as they are.
Adults still have to pay twelve euros per year, trainees, students, schoolchildren from the age of 18, unemployed, Bufdis, FSJler and holders of a volunteer card six euros per year.
Children and young people do not have to pay a fee up to the age of 18, as do asylum seekers and Hartz IV recipients, kindergartens, schools and old people's homes.
A new family card is being introduced: Two adults and their own children who are not yet of legal age pay EUR 20 per year.
The fees were increased as part of an amendment to the Articles of Association.
The last time this happened was 15 years ago.
But the move was not well received by the SPD parliamentary group.
Peter Falk recalled that the library did not charge any fees when it was founded.
The lawyer also explained that the collection of such data was previously not legally permitted.
Because according to the Municipal Tasks Act, the fees and the usage regulations must be separate.
This has not been the case so far.
Only now did the municipal council have two statutes to vote on.
Falk also feared that the negative effects from the past would be repeated.
Because after the introduction of the fees on January 1, 2005, the number of loans decreased.
While this was 125,000 in 2003, it fell to 105,000 in 2006. Falk is also convinced that the fees will not have a serious impact on municipal finances.
"We will not rehabilitate the budget by doing this."
Mayor Martin Schäfer (UWG) was able to counter Falk with a more up-to-date loan number: This is currently 151,000. And he insisted on emphasizing why the number has increased so: "This is the merit of the employees." which the head of the library Angelina Hanke heard, who followed the session as a listener.
The Gröbenzeller library is currently closed due to corona.
But there is good news: The Free State has now also allowed libraries to use the online pick-up service (Click & Collect), which has been available in retail for some time.
