The last few months have been unconventional and not easy for all of us, and in light of the situation B144 is launching a new and special project designed to pardon small business owners across the country.

Each time we will bring you here the story of another business, so that you can get to know it and maybe even support it.

And this time we talk to Tal Gur, who handles creation and expression in the field of music.

Business Name:

Listening Art

Established:

2020

Tell us about your business:

"This is a business for providing creative and expressive therapy services, through specialization in music. The therapy addresses emotional and mental needs and the work is done with diverse populations, from children with some developmental delay, through people on the autistic continuum or those with trauma or relationship difficulties, to seniors, Living with dementia, Alzheimer's, etc. Music, in any situation, is a platform for contact and we work on different therapeutic goals, which I set together with the patient, if he can do it. We listen to music together and develop a conversation - why exactly this song, who knew Go it, do you want to try to play it and so on.A big part of the job is improvisation, because there are a lot of patients who have difficulty being present in the moment, so we create music from scratch, from the instruments in the room and there is no judgment as to whether it is beautiful or not. more, that need to be released, or for improving the quality of life.

I am a bachelor's degree in music and a master's degree from bar Ilan University music therapy and recently went back a decade in New York, where I among others training at NYU and worked in various settings. when we returned to Israel following the corona, I decided to focus on the clients are private And I opened the

The new business. "

How Does B144 Help Promote Your Business?

"Once I set up the business, I wanted to increase the volume of referrals to me, so I built the page on B144. I currently do not have a listening art site, so the ability to centralize all my marketing on B144 and produce a landing page is great."

How else are you promoting yourself digitally?

"I created a flyer, which I sent to mailing lists and an email that I forwarded to as many people as possible with an explanation of the business."

Pargan for another business:

"I have a colleague named Ehud Aton, who opened a music school in Mitzpe Ramon called Internal Compass. People come to him for higher education, certificate studies and he does an amazing job and develops creativity with a jazz musician. Last December he even did an online festival where I performed ".

How has the corona affected your business?

"In New York, everything is closed so we returned to Israel. Here, music therapy is considered emotional therapy, so it is also excluded when there is a closure and it is allowed to move for it, so I can get patients to me. Of course I also zoom in with those who prefer it. This is because it causes a lot of difficulties for many and the music heals, especially when the anxiety increases or there are difficulties in a relationship, for example. "

What tip do you have for other business owners?

"Flexibility is the name of the game in my eyes. Instead of thinking that something is not working, it is better to understand that at the moment it is difficult for everyone and that the maximum must be done to exhaust the possibilities, because the situation also opened up a lot of new options. For example, it forced me to learn new skills." "Part of what we do in therapy is producing music and I learned that even with zoom, with the right software, it is possible to record a song with a patient through the computer."

How do you envision your business in 5 years?

"I see it developing more towards social action. Bringing hearts together interests me and I want to bridge gaps in the population of Israel and use music as something that develops dialogue. Of course I hope to grow myself and employ therapists who will want to work according to the method I work with."
