Many retailers were hopeful when Click & Collect was finally allowed in Bavaria.
But the balance after a week is sobering.
Click & Collect is now also allowed in retail in Bavaria
The dealers are happy to have this opportunity
But customers were reluctant to take the option of personally picking up their goods from the local store after pre-ordering
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - “We are very happy that we have this opportunity,” says Birgit Schiller from Geretsried's toy store Krömer.
Pick-up is accepted, albeit not to the extent hoped.
“You don't give each other a hand,” explains Birgit Schiller with a laugh.
It may take time for customers to get used to it.
All advertising channels are used
Barbara Bader from the Wolfratshauser gift shop "Wunsch Traum" is of the same opinion.
“I think people have to internalize that first,” says the entrepreneur, who uses all channels - from banner advertising in front of the store to Facebook - to advertise Click & Collect.
With modest success: “The big run didn't come about.” However, this is probably also due to the general mood in the country.
Gabi Will makes no secret of the fact that she expected more.
"It's depressing," complains the saleswoman who "holds the position" in the Conny Broenner jewelry store in Wolfratshausen.
Even if that were "a bit like occupational therapy".
One reason for the reluctance could be that you don't necessarily buy jewelry from the (online) catalog: “I can buy a charm with a Pandora bracelet.
But the majority want to touch rings and chains and try them out before buying. "

Next door at the Fischer-Pflügl traditional costume shop, customers are also “extremely reserved”, as Gudrun Fischer admits.
No opportunity to try them on, plus the hassle of exchanging them if it doesn't fit.
Many potential buyers find that rather a deterrent.
“A costume is not something you buy in passing.
This is a long-term purchase, so you deal with it longer before buying, ”says Fischer.
Customer knows what he wants
A few entrances to the store, the Wiedemann perfumery is quite satisfied.
“It is roughly what we expected,” says managing director Christian Wiedemann, without giving a precise number of customers.
The reason: “We sell everyday products.
When a cream is out, I need a new one.
The customer knows what he wants.
And if not, we can provide very good advice, either virtually or by phone, ”says Wiedemann.
I think people have to internalize that first.

Stefan Friedl, managing director of EP-Friedl in Geretsried, sees it similarly, where the in-house coffee roaster attracts customers: “When you run out of coffee, you have to buy more.” Overall, he rated the pick-up option as positive.
It "certainly brings more business" because the delivery service has not suffered any losses.
Household appliances are in demand as well as televisions.
Pick up yourself instead of having it delivered
Your customers know what they want: This is a great advantage of the Osiander bookstore on Karl-Lederer-Platz in Geretsried.
"We are very satisfied," says branch manager Sarah Ulbrich, who has noticed that the business has shifted a bit - from delivery and shipping service to self-collection.
Especially on Tuesday, when the market is open, a little queue (“everyone is disciplined”) forms in front of the “pick-up station” that has been installed in the front door.
“It is of course no comparison with normal business.
The walk-in customers are missing, ”says Ulbrich.
“We are nevertheless glad that it is so now.
And we hope that it will not be taken back. "
