an FFP2 mask has been mandatory
in
Bavaria
due to the high Corona * figures.
These protect both the environment and the wearer himself from the virus. * It was only on Thursday that the Aschaffenburg district office recalled around a thousand FFP2 masks *.
The reason was that
fluctuating values were measured

density of the masks

Now the Bavarian riot police have
recalled
30,000 masks
.

The masks that have now been recalled are products from the same Chinese manufacturer as in
Aschaffenburg
.
The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior confirmed this to the
Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation
(BR).
Specifically, it concerns masks with an invalid
CE mark
or masks for which the necessary specification of the four-digit number of the certification body was missing.
The district office of Aschaffenburg started a recall on Thursday, the affected products had been sent to the three communities of Kahl am Main, Laufach and the administrative community Schöllkrippen.
There they were partly distributed to family carers.
The
masks
have now been replaced.

In
response to a BR
request, the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) stated that it had been a precautionary
recall
initiated by the District Office on its own responsibility
.
"The mask batches of the manufacturer, which
were delivered to
the LGL's pandemic
warehouse
and subsequently issued to the district of Aschaffenburg, were formally checked in advance and repeatedly also technically by the LGL and assessed as marketable."
The masks concerned did not have the name FFP2, which is common in the EU, but the Chinese name
KN95.
This is similar to the EU standard.
During tests, however, a fluctuating value for the density was found.
As the
BR
further reported, three out of ten masks met the
EU standard
, but seven did not.

Due to the
lack of protective equipment
, masks without a CE mark were also in use
until October 1st
.
After sufficient masks were available in the EU, the CE marking was again decisive.
Although there are different standards in individual countries, masks of types FFP2 for Europe, N95 for the USA or KN95 for China are generally suitable for aerosol filtering, as the
