The Agriculture Directorate in Lattakia has begun disbursing dues to farmers whose objections to compensation applications have been accepted, in addition to the farmers whose names appear in the appendix lists.

The Assistant Director of Agriculture, Eng. Nawwaf Shehadeh, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the directorate formed 6 central committees from the directorate at the governorate level to study the objections, and regular verification forms were organized for accepted objections, and the directorate began to hand over their owners their dues and compensation for damages.

He indicated that the number of objections requests submitted to the directorate amounted to 4,609, including 1,658 valid objections, 1,774 unjust objections, and 1,177 appendices, bringing the total of requests for objections due to 2835 with the appendix.

According to Shehadeh, the total sums owed to those affected amount to 3111542400 Syrian pounds for the three years, half of the amount will be disbursed during the first installment.

Shehadeh pointed out that those whose objections were not accepted, the committee itself worked on writing the reasons for not accepting the objection .. and it was either because one of the family members received the dues or that the victim had a burnt land without trees or trees that did not reach the fruiting stage, where compensation is only for the burned fruit trees. .

He pointed out that the verification forms are organized through more than one committee, where the spatial committee consisting of the head of the extension unit, the village engineer, the head of the association, the mukhtar, and the surveyor in the affected village, in addition to the sub-committee at the district level, which studies the data received from the spatial committee and checks it with objections to be approved. From an executive committee and referring it to direct payment of dues to the affected farmers in the village itself, directly.

The directorate had distributed dues worth 11.181 billion Syrian pounds to 16,843 farmers in 132 villages.
