Hongkong Post received a notification from an outsourced company driver this evening that he was diagnosed with the new coronavirus and is currently in quarantine at home awaiting admission for treatment.

The driver of the outsourced company works as a driver at the Delivery Office of the General Post Office. He works about three to six hours every morning and is responsible for carrying mail bags and postal personnel from Central to Admiralty.

The driver of the outsourced company does not need to work in the General Post Office's delivery office, nor does he need to contact mail or perform delivery tasks. After he finishes his work every day, he will not park his vehicle in the General Post Office.

He had a body temperature check during work, and his body temperature was normal, and he always wore a mask at work.

The last time the outsourced driver went to work was January 22. He felt unwell that night and went to see a doctor and undergo a virus test today. He was notified by the Health Protection Center to confirm his diagnosis in the evening.

In addition, Hongkong Post said that a civilian worker was initially diagnosed and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

The civilian staff worked on the first floor of the Air Mail Center, which did not handle mail.

He is responsible for clerical work and does not need to contact the mail or the public, and his workplace is not open to the public.

The last time the employee went to work was on January 20. He felt unwell that night and went to a private doctor for consultation.
