The Jinfeng Youth Chamber of Commerce conducted a questionnaire survey of "Coming Together" in December last year. In the form of an online questionnaire, it interviewed 604 citizens between the ages of 18 and 50, and released the results today (23).

The association hopes to use survey data to reflect its opinions to relevant authorities and organizations, and to make Hong Kong business and the public reflect on it.

Earlier, there were incidents such as Geji being put on the terrace by the owner for a long time, and 30 animals in the deep well were thrown down from a height, which caused great repercussions in society.

A survey conducted by the Chamber of Commerce also found that 47% of the interviewees believe that in terms of animal protection, legislation is most needed to punish those who abuse animals, and 41% believe that the public should be educated about the proper attitude of animal husbandry.

In terms of economic development, 48% of the interviewees look forward to the "average" business environment in Hong Kong in the next five years, 32% even think it will be "bad", and only 8% are optimistic about the above situation.

The questionnaire also asked about the difficulties faced in doing business in Hong Kong. 45% of people think that the cost of starting a business is high, and 32% think that the chamber of commerce should organize different business matching activities to help business.

Regarding the development of young people, 29% of respondents believe that Hong Kong’s living prices are too expensive and unaffordable for young people. Nearly 20% of the respondents believe that Hong Kong’s living environment is too stressful, affecting development.

In addition, 20% of the interviewees strongly agree, and 44% agree that the development of the Greater Bay Area will give young people more opportunities for development.

Dr. Zhiyuan Di, Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Family Education, pointed out that an earlier survey on the happiness index of young people in Hong Kong found that the happiness index of young people in Hong Kong lags behind developing countries. He believes that young people are facing pressures such as high living index and competition from society. Under the circumstances, buying a house and getting married have become difficult, and their emotions are worthy of social concern.

He also pointed out that many people are shy about going to the Greater Bay Area for development, but believe that economic means should not be used to encourage them. They point to places like Japan and South Korea where young people are willing to go without government subsidies, describing it as "ideological resistance."

Di Zhiyuan pointed out that the government should ease the atmosphere in society, and political disputes require the efforts of the entire society to achieve harmony.

Chen Xiaoqing, president of the Jinfeng Youth Chamber of Commerce, pointed out that the original intention of "walking together" is to gather young people who care about social needs and serve the society without distinction.

She pointed out that the questionnaire survey is the beginning of this year's theme, and different activities will be held in the future.

For example, in recent years, news reports on the issue of abandonment are mainly because the owner does not know how to get along with small animals. In the future, a short film shot with dog handlers will be released to promote the message of teaching pets in the correct way to the public.

He Shaozhong, a member of the Business Facilitation Committee and the chairman of the Hong Kong Cosmetics Industry Association, said that despite the once-in-a-century epidemic, the economic environment is poor and the unemployment rate is high, he believes that the rent and labor will fall in the next five years. Or 2023 will have a better business environment.

He also believes that Hong Kong’s career choices are very "lonely" and have a narrow spectrum. For example, training on laboratory research and development of formulas is rare in the cosmetics industry. He believes that not only young people have no future, but Hong Kong has no other development direction.
