Rabbi Kanievsky's entourage is considering ordering the opening of all educational institutions in the ultra-Orthodox-Lithuanian world in the near future, in light of heavy pressure from institutional directors, Israel Today has learned.

It should be noted that already at the beginning of the closure, Rabbi Kanievsky's entourage expressed discomfort with the statement that the institutions would be closed in a sweeping manner, but the decision in the end was to order an official closure.

In the last two weeks, various parties have been trying to put pressure on the institutions to open, but no decision has been made at this time.

In recent days, directors of institutions have come to the home of the greatest of the ultra-Orthodox generation, and have accepted that the closure is ongoing and in the meantime the children's studies are disabled.

In some cases, the rabbi allowed the institutions to open, but not yet in a sweeping manner.

"The rabbi heard the principals' words seriously and believes that the story of education is acute and that it is time to open the institutions," a source close to Rabbi Kanievsky told Israel Today.

"Enough is enough. They told the rabbi a few days, then a few more days, and there have been no studies for more than two weeks. The ultra-Orthodox public cannot give up Talmud Torah for so long."

Kol Barama radio commentator Israel Cohen explains: "The ultra-Orthodox children have no zoom, no internet. It does not make sense to study by phone. Even what was above and beyond. No one believed that Rabbi Kanievsky would close the Talmud Torah for a few days. "That culture is important to Tel Aviv and the demonstrations are important to democracy, education and Talmud Torah are important to the ultra-Orthodox public. It was necessary to know in advance that it is impossible to close."

"Open all Torah studies openly"

It is not only the Lithuanian public that is fed up with the ongoing closure.

Rabbi Yisrael Hagar, the Rebbe of Viznitz, one of the most important Hasidic sects, ordered the opening of educational institutions during Shabbat. “Anyone who has a problem should contact me.

"From tomorrow I do not want to hear from any educational institution that it is closed," the Rebbe told his followers and ordered that his remarks be published in the "HaModi'a" newspaper.

He said, "I am instructed to open all of Viznitz's Talmudic Torah openly.

"If policemen come - the hyder managers will turn them over to me," the Rebbe added. Hagar. "

The order to open the educational institutions comes against the background of enormous anger on the part of the ultra-Orthodox about what happened on the night between Thursday and Friday in Bnei Brak, when police forces were operating extensively in the city.

According to the residents, stun grenades were used excessively, and a video of police beating ultra-Orthodox people with batons was even published.

On the other hand, the police claimed that "the police dealt with a series of serious and violent riots by a number of lawbreakers, who brutally attacked and restrained the police forces and injured seven police officers on the job. "While many lawbreakers threw stones at police officers, beat and wounded police officers, rioted and disturbed public order and set fire to bins."
