With the end of the seven-day anniversary of the death of the late Sheldon Adelson, a world memorial event was held on Thursday in partnership with more than 40 American-Jewish organizations, together with the Israel-American Community Organization (IAC).

The online salute event included eulogies and personal stories of family and friends, and prayers, and Jewish texts were learned around the legacy of giving to the community of the late Sheldon.

The President of the State of Israel, Reuven (Ruby) Rivlin, opened the event and said: "Sheldon Adelson, his memory is blessed, loved the Jewish people and loved the State of Israel. A huge American patriot who saw the strong alliance between Israel and the United States as a personal mission.

His personal story - from selling newspapers to being an international businessman, ignited the imagination of many around the world.

His determination and ability to identify opportunities, take risks, be brave and succeed - were known to all.

In recent decades, Sheldon has had a great influence in public life in Israel, he has contributed to many goals, most of which have deepened the connection of the people of Israel to the land, and to heritage. "

Sheldon's brother, Lenny Adelson, said Kaddish and carried an obituary in his memory, in which he recounted how ambitious Sheldon was even at a young age and added, "My brother was the most generous philanthropist, he was just an amazing person."

More than 1,000 participants, including leading figures in the Jewish world and Jewish organizations throughout the United States and Israel, took part in the event: Taglit, the Bonds, Friends of the IDF in the United States, FIDF, Ihud Hatzalah, IDC Herzliya, StandWithUs, Boston Jewish Federations And Nevada, Chabad, Magen David Adom and more.

Sean Even-Haim talked about his friendship with Adelson and said: "He was the best friend you ever dreamed you would have. In a conversation I had with Sheldon and Miri at the IAC conference I asked him what he hopes his legacy will be, and he replied that nothing to do with his business, but preferred "That it will be in the field of medical research, the Jewish world and the State of Israel. In all his actions he wanted to improve the lives of others. The best way to honor his memory is to continue his legacy, and that responsibility lies with each and every one of us."
