The economic limitations derived from the coronavirus pandemic and the uncertainty about the future leadership of the club place Barcelona in a weaker than usual situation in the transfer market.
However, the Catalans are trying to manage to strengthen their squad and one of the strategies they are deploying is to target the players whose contract expires in the middle of the year.
One of those in the portfolio, and that could also serve as an incentive for Lionel Messi to stay at Barça, is Sergio Agüero.
According to what was reported by the Mundo Deportivo newspaper,

The 32-year-old striker has a contract with Manchester City until June 30 and the English club does not seem willing to propose a renewal, so Barcelona would not have to pay to obtain his token.
