Four residents of Bnei Brak were arrested today (Sunday) on suspicion of involvement in the police attack that took place last Thursday in the city.

Investigators at the Bnei Brak station conducted a thorough investigation, which led to the identification of the identities of four of the suspects, who turned themselves in to the police station in the city and were immediately arrested for questioning.

Police opened an investigation upon receiving the report of the attack on King Solomon Street in the city, during which a group of Vizhnitz-Center followers gathered around the vehicle of the police officers from the licensing unit, who were engaged in enforcement activities in the city.

They threw stones and planks at them and smashed the windshields of the vehicle in which the officers were traveling, in a manner that slightly injured a female police officer.

This is the Vizhnitz Chassidut headed by the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hagar.

After the attack, clashes broke out between ultra-Orthodox and police forces in Bnei Brak, which lasted for long hours until the middle of the night.

City residents set fire to cans and tires, blocked intersections and threw stones at police officers.

In response, police threw stun grenades at them, beat them with batons and arrested six suspected rioters.

Earlier, the police raided the yeshiva from which the Vizhnitz-Center followers came and injured a policewoman.

The police worked to disperse disturbances throughout the city with reinforcements.

Among other things, police officers reached traffic arteries that were blocked by burning tires and tried to evacuate the crowd.

The suspects were taken for questioning, and may be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court this morning for a hearing on extending their detention.
