Eleven workers who were trapped for two weeks in a gold mine in China were rescued today (Sunday) in peace.

The official TV channel CCTV saw the workers being raised one by one by a breaker in a mine that collapsed in an explosion.

Their eyes were protected after so many days in the dark.

One of the workers reportedly died of a head injury during the collapse of the mine that was under construction on January 10th.

The fate of ten other workers who were at the scene at the time is unknown.

Authorities have arrested nine mine managers for delays in reporting the accident.

The official China Daily newspaper reported that seven of the workers managed to evacuate to ambulances on their own.

Many rescue vehicles were parked next to engineering vehicles at a quarry in Heishiya in Shandong Province.

Every year, about 5,000 people die in the mining industry in China, although increased oversight has improved industry safety.

However, the demand for coal and precious metals continues to lead to rounding corners and fatal accidents.

Survived with little supply.
