After presenting the plan for the return to classes in person, the City of Buenos Aires began to "export" the initiative to municipalities throughout the country.

This is the "First the School" plan, with a return to face-to-face classes staggered by cycles and protocols for transportation, teachers and students.

Although some of the 17 teaching unions that exist in the City of Buenos Aires have already

rejected the plan and announced measures of force

, from the Buenos Aires government they trust the model to be applied.

To such an extent that they began to "export" ideas so that they can be applied in other cities and municipalities of the country.

That was what the virtual meeting held by Buenos Aires officials, led by the Minister of Education, Soledad Acuña and the Secretary General of Government,

Fernando Straface

, with mayors of the Province of Buenos Aires such as Diego Valenzuela (Tres de Febrero), Néstor Grindetti, was about that. (Lanús) and

Hector Gay

(Bahia Blanca) and from the interior of the country;

Raúl “Chuli” Jorge

(San Salvador de Jujuy),

Mariano Campero

(Yerba Buena) and

Leonel Chiarella

(Venado Tuerto).

The meeting served to share the details of the plan "First the School".

Minister Acuña made reference to the alarming data that demonstrate the urgent need to return to school in person, and detailed the guidelines of the plan.

"

Presence must be the rule, and virtuality must be the exception,

" he said.

For his part,

Manuel Vidal

, Undersecretary of the Teaching Career shared the protocols that will be carried out in the City's schools to guarantee a safe return to the classrooms, of great interest to the mayors who were willing to incorporate the shared practices in their municipalities.

Another participant in the meeting was

Lucas Delfino

, Undersecretary of Federal Urban Cooperation of the Buenos Aires Government, who has been requesting the return to face-to-face classes throughout the country and is collecting signatures from the residents of Hurlingham, his district, for the return to lessons.

"What really has to matter to us Argentines is the education of our children" and added that that is why "it is important throughout the country to be able to resume face-to-face classes."

Although the City of Buenos Aires set February 17 as the start date for classes, the Ministry of Education of the Nation announced that each province may set a date and guidelines for the return of children to classes.

Thus, for example, in the Province of Buenos Aires the classes will begin on March 1 in a scheme that will combine face-to-face and virtual classes, although the details are still unknown.
