Luis Miguel celebrates 39 years of career in unknown whereabouts

The Mexican singer and icon Luis Miguel has just celebrated 39 years since the release of his first album,

that he recorded when he was just a teenager.

The celebrations that the fans prepare will be through social networks and radio specials, with the absence of the honoree.

The music producer is also avoiding the media spotlight since the beginning of the pandemic and little is known about his whereabouts.

In Acapulco, his favorite place of residence, some TikTok users recorded him on a terrace protecting himself from the sun under some umbrellas - the last clue of him - while others managed to sneak into his old mansion on the coast, which showed worrying signs of abandonment.

Meanwhile, fans await the premiere of the second season of his autobiographical series, which has finished filming after two years of waiting and with the controversy of the participation of his ex-wife, who wants to play herself.

Luis Miguel's long career has been marked and dramatized in the Netflix series that bears his name.

In the first season it is remembered how the one who would be the greatest youth performer in Latin America began his career in a seedy bar and later on a small television channel in Ciudad Juárez.

His father, Luisito Rey, knew how to recognize the talent of his prodigious son, capable of reaching complicated notes and keeping them even during the voice change of adolescence.

He left his job to focus on the future of Luis Miguel and later, the singer would receive his first big opportunity when he appeared at the wedding of the daughter of a former president of Mexico: Paulina López Portillo.

After rising to fame, he recorded on January 21, 1982 the first of many albums.

The second season promises to alleviate the tense wait for fans, who were left with their hearts in a fist in the last chapter.

Luis Miguel rebukes his father on his deathbed in a Madrid hospital to beg him to tell him the truth about the disappearance of his mother, Marcela Basteri.

Unfortunately, his father passes away before revealing Basteri's whereabouts.

However, his manager bursts in at the last minute with a hopeful phrase: "They found your mother."

The season ends and the outcome of his search was never discovered.

The second installment was confirmed a year ago and has been surrounded by controversy and litigation.

The singer's second ex-wife and mother of two of his children, Mexican actress Aracely Arámbula, did not want her story to be reflected in the script or her image to be used.

Finally, she will be able to supervise her part of the plot so that there are no inaccuracies and in case an agreement is reached to use her image she has asked to interpret herself, according to Martha Figueroa, author of the authorized biography of the singer

Regarding the participation of Luis Miguel, he assures that he "does not get too involved" in the filming because "he already authorized what he had to authorize."

It is suspected that he is working on his latest album, away from the spotlight.

"In times of pandemic it is more guarded than usual," he admits.

The so-called Sol de México has always been reserved before the cameras, but it has been especially missing since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis.

Figueroa explains that the Luis Miguel of recent years, the one who allowed himself to be seen and photographed in Miami and Las Vegas, was strangely close and social.

"He does not like photographs nor does he let them approach him, that is the usual Luis Miguel: discreet and elusive," he points out.

In fact, it was that aura of mystery and absence that held the public's attention.

“It has always worked for him and it is what makes people interested in him, even when they have other musical tastes.

When Armando Manzanero died he did not speak out and he was criticized a lot for it, but we do not know if it hurt him in private.

For Lucy Gómez Sánchez, president of the Complices de Luis Miguel fan club, in Peru, she assures that the news of her abandoned house in Acapulco has caused such a stir, especially due to the elusive personality of the singer.

The images of the interior of the mansion were uploaded to TikTok and unleashed the concern of his followers about the deterioration of it.

However, Sánchez remembers that that house was sold in 2010 when the isolated property began to be surrounded by new constructions and crowds of tourists on the beach to which it had panoramic views.

“Luis Miguel always generates too much expectation and his reserve to be seen is the success ingredient of his series.

People realize there what he is like as a person and everything he had to go through before he got there.

Unlike other artists, Luis Miguel does not feed the curiosity of his fans with broadcasts of his private life on Instagram. "Why don't you use social networks?
