MK Merav Michaeli was elected chairman of the Labor Party.
She won the election held today across the country in a sweeping and unequivocal victory, getting 77% of the total votes of party members who voted.
The MK defeated eight candidates, including Gil Beilin and Avi Shaked.
The chairman of the Tnufa Ofer party sent a greeting to Michaeli, who he said "went the right way and won.
Now is the time to act and connect quickly and without hesitation. "
Labor Secretary Eran Hermoni said 9,651 party members exercised their right to vote in the election. Hermoni noted that: "We will return to being an important and central factor in this election."

Avi Shaked also congratulated Michaeli.
"I thank the hundreds of activists who in a two-day campaign managed to get more than 1,800 companies and friends to support me. I am happy that my candidacy brought life to the party," he said.
The primaries were accompanied by mishaps and irregularities, with many party members not being allowed to vote on the grounds that they were not registered in the voter register.
Michaeli was also one of them, and she was finally allowed to vote.
A source close to the MK told Israel Today earlier that "there are many party members who did not let them vote."
